Dr. Soumyaranjan Routray received Ph.D. degree from, National Institute of Technology Silchar, India under Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme, MeitY, Govt. of India in 2018. Currently, he is with SRM University, Kattankulathur, Chennai, India as Research Assistant Professor (RAP) in Dept. of Electronics and Communication Engg.. Currently he is appointed as a visiting professor at Chang Gung University, Taiwan. His current research interest includes investigation on semiconductor devices such as solar cells, memristor design, low cost sensors and high performance transistors. He has also expertise with computer aided design tools for semiconductor Qubit design. Dr. Routray has also contributed more than 70 numbers of articles in different leading international journals and conferences such as Solar Energy, Applied Physics Letter, IEEE Sensor Journals, IEEE TNANO, IEEE TED, IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics, Solid State Electronics, Semicondctor Science and Technlogy etc... He is a 5 times IEEE Publication award winner in India. He is also serving as a Guest Editor of Nanomaterials Journal. He has guided 2 PhD students successfully and guiding three scholars at SRM University. Dr. Routray is the senior member of IEEE. He is also a life member of Solar Energy Society of India (SESI). He has received multiple funding of around 95000 USD from DST, Govt. of India, Nanoacademic Technologies, Canada and Electron Device Society, USA. - Abstract:
Semiconductor devices have been the backbone of numerous different fields: electronics, online commerce, the information and communication industry, and the defense industry. For over fifty years, silicon technology has been the central focus and primary driver of innovation in the semiconductor industry. Apart from CMOS Industry, semiconductor devices play a major role in sensing applications, optoelectronics and energy sectors. Traditional CMOS scaling has approached some fundamental limits, and as a result, the pace of scientific research and discovery for novel semiconductor technologies is increasing with a focus on novel materials, devices, designs, architectures, and computer paradigms. In particular, new computing paradigms and systems—such as quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and Internet of Things—have the potential to unlock unprecedented power and application space. Advanced Semiconductor devices include a comprehensive overview of selected semiconductor technologies and the most up-to-date research topics, looking in particular at mainstream developments in current industry research and development, from emerging materials and devices, to new computing paradigms and applications.
